After an alleged armaments storage is set on fire by a Ukrainian drone attack, Russia promises to reply.

A state of emergency was declared in Russia’s southwest Voronezh area after a drone set fire to a facility purportedly holding weaponry. Moscow has threatened to respond to Ukrainian strikes within its borders.

According to Voronezh governor Aleksandr Gusev, the drone strike happened at a village in the Podgorensky district on Sunday. According to Ukrainian officials, the warehouse was targeted because Russian troops fighting in Ukraine were receiving ammunition from it.

Over the course of last night’s operations, air defense soldiers on duty in the Voronezh region discovered and destroyed many unmanned aerial vehicles. A warehouse’s wreckage fell, causing a fire to start. The Podgorensky district is where the detonation of explosive objects started, according to Gusev.

Although he did not name the hamlet, he did mention that a state of emergency had been proclaimed there. He claimed that although no one was hurt in the attack, two elderly women were checked out at the hospital.

“Militant, officials, and operational services are working on the site to eliminate the emergency,” he stated, adding that plans had been made for the evacuation of local village people as well.

About fifty individuals from three communities have been moved to short-term lodging facilities thus far. We are offering them every support they require,” he declared.

According to a Ukrainian source with knowledge of the situation, the facility was being used to supply Russian troops fighting in Ukraine with munitions, which is why drones from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) targeted it.

The source claimed that on 9,000 square meters, “the enemy was storing surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missiles, shells for tanks and artillery, and boxes of ammunition for firearms.” CNN is unable to independently substantiate the allegations.

In response to the incident, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov remarked on a state broadcaster, “I am convinced that you will see it in the foreseeable future. The president has said that we would respond.”

The US and NATO maintain their position that they are not at war with Russia. According Russian state news agency TASS, Lavrov stated, “This is not a brave face on a bad situation, that’s what I’ll say, and they understand it perfectly well.”

The Ukrainian drone strikes had also been stopped Saturday night in the Belgorod border region, according to a statement released by Russia’s Defense Ministry on Sunday.

At least two persons were hurt in the Kharkiv region on Sunday as a result of ongoing Russian assaults in Ukraine, according to local authorities.

Authorities in the Kherson region farther south reported that 14 fires were extinguished by rescuers as a result of Russian shelling that caused damage to cars and residential buildings.
